Today, I'd like to tell you about the WJB5-BP/Act, one of the most popular models in the Bacchus Universe series.
The first thing you'll notice is the burl poplar on the top of the body. It's a model with high cost-performance, but it also has a very high quality feel to it.
About burl
Burl refers to the mass of wood near the base of the tree. Burl is characterized by its unique undulations, knots, and other lifelike patterns. It is believed that the burl is derived from cancer-like masses that form on the surface of trees and are caused by lost branches or bark damage, but there are many unknown factors about its origin.
Burl grain has a tendency to twist and warp, making it difficult to process and requiring many steps to be completed before it can be used for guitar making.
Even though it is quite laborious to get ready, its attractive appearance makes it a favorite among many.
Main body material: Mahogany
Mahogany is used as the main body material. This gives it a woody sound with its characteristic midranges.
Maple & Rosewood 5p neck
The neck of a 5-string electric bass is subjected to a great deal of tension. In order to handle this tension, a maple and rosewood 5P neck is used to provide strength and a tight sound.
Controls
This model is active, with a master volume control, a balancer, and a 3-band EQ (treble, middle, and bass). Having a 3-band EQ allows you to boost or cut each range to create a detailed sound.
This control can also be said to be an important factor in determining the sense of sound release and the position of the bass in the band ensemble. Especially in the case of a 5-string electric bass, the Low-B string tends to be dull, so being able to adjust the balance of the sound with a 3-band EQ is one of its strengths.
In addition, a battery box is located in the back of the body, making it easy to change batteries and making it a great active base.
