We will take a closer look at the special models that appeared at the Deviser 2020 Virtual -One Day Guitar Show- held on November 11, 2020.
This time, we would like to introduce the "SURF BREAKER", a limited one-off model that was presented at this event!
The "SURF BREAKER" is an original model of the Bacchus Handmade series produced at our Aska factory here in Japan.
This is a limited model exclusive to this event so new units won’t be regularly produced, don’t miss your chance!
We went with a slightly different method for painting the body back this time around!
Let’s get into more detail about the fine technique used by the skilled Aska craftsmen in the making of this model.
Luxury body top materials
This -One Day Guitar Show- event brings us two different -SURF BREAKER- models!
The left one uses Quilt Maple and the right one uses Flame maple.
With a German carve that is characteristic of the SURF BREAKER that consists of a body outline cut at an angle to give it a sleek three-dimensional look.
In order to achieve this German curve, the body top material needs to be thicker than usual.
For this reason, we didn’t use any top material for the SURF BREAKERs.
This time around we had to do less to bring more to the table, so we only made two units for this event.
We used two top of the line materials, quilt maple and flame maple, and due to the nature of this model, we had to use very thick pieces to achieve an equally top of the line model.
Coloring & Wood Hardware
We also went on a very distinct path for the coloring to make the best use of high-quality wood.
This time, wine was the inspiration for this color! !!
Shiojiri City, which is next to Matsumoto City, where the Asuka Factory is located, is very famous for its wine, so that inspired us to go for the local flavor.
Each model expresses the deep reddish-purple of red wine and the refreshing light green of white wine.
In addition, the pickup cover and escutcheon are also very unique!
Instead of regular plastic hardware, we instead went for carefully carved wood hardware.
This is also a part handmade by a craftsman at the Aska factory. The material is Flame Tochi, which gives it a luxurious finish to accompany the main body!
Antique Finish
The body back has an antique finish.
The painter finishes it by hand!
It has a unique texture!
The high-class feeling of the Top material and the antique feeling of the Back material are a winning combination.
